Shelley Brunette
Shelley has been in the IT industry for 24 years. Starting off as a data capturer initially and then moving through the ranks as a developer, analyst and project manager. In the early ‘90s she assumed responsibility for a large data cleansing project at one of the major financial institutions in South Africa. The project quickly developed into a programme, with a portfolio of projects to address data correction and prevention activities that spanned the organization’s client, product and transactional data.
From this stemmed a passion for data quality and a desire to see its benefits realized for this, and many other, organizations. Shelley developed the data quality initiatives into a formal function in the business with departments, full-time roles, processes and systems in place focusing only on data and information quality.
After this, Shelley moved a step closer to her objective of being part of an organization dedicated purely to the data quality and information management disciplines, as she managed the Information Quality Management division for one of the countries leading BEE IT companies for 2 years, before joining InfoBlueprint.
With 15 years of experience in the field of Data & Information Quality, Shelley has had the opportunity to develop and test, both theoretically and practically, best practices to apply in this field. Some of the processes and systems built by her and her teams have been very well received when tested with overseas audiences at the Data Management & Information Quality Conferences held annually in Europe and the USA, as well as at the International Business Rules Forum, amongst others.
